Cutting-Edge Technology
- Grade “A” solar cells:
- Only the highest quality non-Chinese cells are used in BAUER modules
- No B, C or D grade which other manufacturers use to cut costs.
- A Grade cells are the blackest and have the highest power output per cell.
- 3 Types of Glass:
- Transparent, black grid or white grid available to suit all aesthetic and performance requirements.
- Stronger Frames:
- BAUER’s frames are 35 mm high for commercial modules whereas the industry standard for this size of modules is often 30 mm. Additionally, the aluminum extrusions in BAUER frames are typically 30% thicker. These differences result in a module that is stronger and stiffer which prevents micro-cracking and premature module degradation.
- QA and QC:
- Every module is flash tested before shipping and is guaranteed to produce over its nameplate capacity. The cumulative testing rejection rate on BAUER modules is less than 0.01718% (tested over a 10-year period).
- TOPCon Technology:
- First to the Canadian market with TOPCon modules, BAUER has been using TOPCon (vs PERC) solar cells for over 4 years, and is a leader in transition to this newer, and better technology – suitable for residential to utility scale projects.
- TOPCon vs PERC:
- Higher efficiency: 6-12% with same module footprint.
- Immune to Light Induced Degradation ie: initial degradation due to sunlight (LID).
- Lower Potential Induced Degradation over time ie: due to high voltages (PID).
- Less temperature sensitivity (more performance at higher temps).
- Better low light performance due to increased sensitivity to long-wavelength light.
- Higher Bifacial factor compared to PERC (80% vs 70%).
- TOPCon is a newer technology – BAUER is among the first to offer this in Canada.
- TOPCon vs HPDC:
- The BAUER TOPCon N-TYPE module has a higher VoC.This important difference means:
- More power generation in low-light conditions (early mornings, late evenings, or cloudy weather).
- Reduced current flow in the entire installation. This means lower power losses resulting in higher overall efficiency of the installed PV system.
- Reduced current flow in each module results in lower thermal stress to the bypass diodes in the event of shading.
- Modules with higher VoC are designed to withstand higher voltage stress = lower power degradation, increased overall system longevity & reduced system maintenance costs.
- Higher VoC contributes to better solar module longevity.
